Stuck?! Sketches: Back to School

Wow...it's been awhile, but I'm actually participating in a challenge. Anything to get me motivated to use up my ever-growing stash :) Hopefully, I make time for these more often...I have forgotten how much fun they are! But for now, I'm linking up with Stuck?! Sketches with my take on this ...

 Back to School
Supplies
Bella Blvd: Star Student (Artistic Clear Cut, Borders, Geek Chic, Treasures&Text); Ciao Chip (Borders, Star Student); Designer Tape (Red Chevron, Navy Dot); Enamel Dots (Bell Pepper, Guacamole, McIntosh)

I love sketches with square photos. I don't really take the time anymore to edit and print off photos from my big camera. I know...sad. But, the reality is that I just don't have the time for all of that. It's so much easier to upload the Instagram photos from my phone, order prints...and bam! a few days later I can create a page with what happened last week.

...Although...these are photos from about 8 months ago. So, I'm even behind on that ;)

SEI: #Lifelessons

On Monday, I shared a page over at the SEI Lifestyle Blog combining the Hoo's Sweet and Forever Sassy collections...

#Lifelessons
Supplies
Hoo's Sweet - Little Petals, stickers
Forever Sassy - Cheeky Snippets, Stickers, Sundries, Assorted Overlays
Chalet - Sundries
Basics - Sundries

I thought it would be fun to create a grid design using a mat that I took out of an 8.5x11 document frame. I originally set one box aside for the photo, one for the title, one for an embellishment cluster, and one for the jouraling. But, after I had it all laid out, I started moving things around. I feel like the end result draws the eye across the page a little bit better.

Combining these to collections was effortless because the colors coordinate so perfectly. I pulled the blues and greens from both to keep the theme more masculine.

SEI: Spring Birthday Cards

Last week I shared a couple of spring themed birthday cards over at the SEI Lifestyle Blog...

Celebrate Today
Supplies
Sweet Sora (6x6 pad)
Forever Sassy (Assorted Frames, Sundries)
Basics (Sundries)
Hoo's Sweet (Kraft Chips)

For the first card, I started by covering a plain white card with patterned paper from a 6x6 pad. I then hot glued the beaded leaves to the top/center of the card. Uing dimensional tape, the frame went on next...over the stems. I also popped up the Kraft Chip sentiment, and layered it over the bottom o f the frame. To finish up, I trimmed down the stem leaves and added the dimensional flowers.

For You
Supplies
Sweet Sora (Stickers)
Hoo's Sweet (Cherry Drops, Kraft Chips, Stickers, Sundries)

For the second card, I secured down the three Kraft Chip flowers to the top center of a plain white card using glue dots. Next, I centered the sentiment sticker under the flowers using dimensional tape. I trimmed down a piece of patterned paper to 1 3/4 inches, and stitched it to the bottom of the card. Finally, I added a border sticker, wrapped it with Baker's Twine, and topped with a button.

SEI: Always Finding Friends

I'm sharing this layout today that was up over at the SEI blog a few weeks ago featuring the Hoo's Sweet collection...

Always Finding Friends
Supplies
Hoo's Sweet (Sweet Owls, Cherry Drops, Pulled Taffy, Green Glitter Specialty Paper, Playful Expressions, Stickers, Kraft Chips, Dimensional Foam Stickers)

I started by cutting a piece of one of my favorite patterned papers from the collection down to 8.5x11 sheet of white cardstock. Next, to kind of match the theme of th ephoto...I chose a green patterned papar, and trimmed it down to 4.25x10. I stitched it down on the right side along with a doily border.

I layered my photo with 3 of the Playful Expression cards, and topped with my embellishments, title, and journaling. I added an inch of glitter paper to the bottom of the page, and finished it up by stitching down flowers along with a strip of patterned paper.

Bella Blvd: 8 Days a Week

Today I'm sharing my last design team project for Bella Blvd. I'm a little behind in posting it...I put it off because I'm a little sad about it :) I have LOVED my time with Bella, and will hopefully continue to share lots of projects using up amazing products from this generous company!

8 Days a Week
Supplies
Color Chaos: Ice Strandz, Pickle Juice Strandz, Words of Wisdom, Months, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Treasures&Text, Trinkets; Invisibles: A Day at a Time; Enamel Dots: Milk White, Bell Pepper; Designer Tape: Blue Gingham; Ciao Chipboard: WhatNots

I cut a heart shape using two scallops from one of the scalloped edge specialty Invisibles papers. I layered it in with the rest of my embellishments which I kept to a 'days of the week; theme...because those are the days my youngest keeps me running! The journaling reads: YOU are a handful on days that end in 'Y'.

SEI: 1-2-3 Lucky Me

Yikes...I'm a little behind in sharing my projects. I became a little overwhelmed with life during the month of March, it seems. I'll be trying to play catch up over the next few days :) The first layout was up over at the SEI blog, and features the Hoo's Sweet collection...

1-2-3 Lucky Me
Supplies
Hoo's Sweet (Oh Honey Honey, Lovely Vines, Honeydew, Playful Expressions, Kraft Chips)
Furry Friends (Sundries)

I started this page by trimming a piece of patterned paper down to 8.5x5 and adhering it along with a border to a sheet of 8.5x11 cardstock. I stitched that down with a 1.5 inch piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the page.

After sticking down my matted photo, I tucked a journaling card under the border to the right of it. I then added my embellishments, title, and journaling. I finished it off by adding some googly eyes to my owl, and stamping the date.
