Bella Blvd: Trending Tuesday on a Friday night

It was Trending Tuesday over at the Bella Blvd blog this week.  We were highlighting velllum, which seems to be making a huge comeback...

Supplies:
Christmas Countdown: Believe, City Sidewalks, Paper Pieces, Tabs; Play Date: Alpha+Bits; Engaged at Last: Alpha+Bits; Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe, Chevron Combo; High Five Alphas: Pink-Red, Brown-Cream

Since it's the chilly month of December, I decided to use vellum to make snowflakes. I don't have a snowflake die, so I used a flower die and then just snipped off the ends.  To finish the look, I added some iridescent glitter glue around the edges. For the 'button' centers, I covered a piece of white cardstock with Chevron designer tape, and punched out circles. I then punched in some 'button holes', and threaded them with twine. To add dimension, I stuck them down with pop dots.

It seems that we all had pretty much the same snowflake idea, it being winter and all it just seemed fitting. But, head on over to the Bella Blvd blog and check out how everyone was inspired to use vellum, each one had their own unique twist :)

Bella Blvd: Friday Sketch

I have a project up on the Bella Blvd blog, using the first of two sketches for the month of December. Today's sketch is from Becky Fleck.

I love sketches, but I do have a hard time making them my own. I usually don't stray too far from the original design :) I did however, eliminate 2 of the squares from the grid design to better fit my 8.5x11 page.

Cute Little Elf

Supplies:
Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Scallop; Christmas Countdown: Believe, Daily Details, Borders, O Tannenbaum, City Sidewalks, Captions; Playdate: Alpha+Bits; Trick or Treat: Alpha+Bits; Flags: Patriotic, Sunshine & Happiness; Crochet Hearts: Saltwater; Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Pickle Juice; High Five Alpha Stickers: Pink-Red

Working with a smaller size canvas, I rarely include more than two photos on a page...but, I was able to include three on this page by substituting small photos for the rectangle shapes on 2 of the squares. And, of course there's always plenty of cute embellishment options to dress up the remaining 2 squares.

Be sure to check out the Bella Blvd Studio Blog to see Laura's and Leanne's fabulous take on the sketch.

Thanks for looking!
