Color Combos Galore #248 & #249...and Current Challenge: Flashback Week

Whew! I've got some catching up to do with my Color Combos Galore challenges!  I was out of town when CCG248 went live, and didn't get home in time to participate in the CCG249 reveal....and then got my project for flashback week done kind of late!  So, this post is kind of a mash-up of all of them together :)

Parade Fun

For my page, I chose Inspiration Photo #4 and used Speech Bubbles. I also used circles, inspired by the muffin tin, also in photo #4; brass hardware, inspired by the mirror in photo #3; and Baker's Twine, seen in photo #1.

Studio Calico - Wood Veneer Speech Bubbles
WeRMemoryKeepers - Brass Hardware
Heidi Swapp - Journal Spots
Colorbok [Antique Paperie] - tag, library card

Happy Birthday

For the card, I used Inspiration Photo #1, and tried to use twine in a unique way.  I also used a banner, as seen in photo #4; rhinestones inspired by the mirror in photo #2; and tried to mimic the flowers in photo #2.

Big Kid
For this challenge...I chose Inspiration Photo #4, and used a grid design.  I also used arrows and chevrons inspired by the chevron throw seen in photo #3.

I didn't get to use triangles the first time around on this challenge, so I went ahead and used them as seen in photo #2. I also used circle elements, also inspired by photo #2; and paint spatter inspired by the feathers in photo #1.

Supply List:
Stampin' Up! - cardstock (Whisper White, Early Espresso)

Sketchabilities #96

Happy Sunday! Sunday happens to be my favorite day of the week :) Not only is it a day of Worship (which is my favorite part), but also an afternoon of either napping, or playing with paper.  Obviously today was a paper playin' day.  I've got so much catching up to do in the kids' albums. I'm so behind, in fact, that Oskar probably won't even have a completed baby album until he's 18. So, even though I love making cards... because they're so fast and easy, I really need to focus on scrapbooking.  I went browsing some challenges (I haven't done that in awhile), and I decided I liked this sketch:

I went digging through some goodies that I recently got from Craft Junction, and this is what I came up with:

Face Art:
Supply List:
Stampin' Up! - Cardstock (Early Espresso); Ink (Soft Sky); Journaler (Going Grey, Whisper White); Punches (corner rounder, ticket corner, heart)
American Crafts - Patterned Paper (notebook); Brads
Echo Park [Dots& Stripes]- Patterned Paper (Lime Sherbet Tiny Dot, Seltzer Grey Small Dot, Mango Large Dot); [All About A Boy] - Stickers; Layered Stickers
Bo Bunny - Patterned Paper (Turquoise Journal)
Basic Grey [Serenade] - Patterned Paper (Yellow Polka Dot); [Bow Ties] - Patterned Paper (orange grid)
Elle's Studio [Lil' Snippets] - Tiny Labels
Doodlebug Design Inc. - Mini Pearls (Tangerine Assortment)
Fancy Pants [Hopscotch] - Letter Stickers (Brown)
Lilybee Design [Allspice] - Letter Stickers (White)
other - washers

I usually have to modify sketches a little for my 8.5x11 pages...so, I moved the title and journaling, and sort of cropped off the right side. I thought the sketch was really fun...and love how my page turned out! Do you follow sketches exactly, or do you like to change it up?
